Spring Hill Lanes, Crystal Automotive hosts 30th PBA Spring Hill Open this weekend

SPRING HILL – The 30th Spring Hill Open, sponsored by Crystal Automotive, takes place this weekend at Spring Hill Lanes, 3447 Commercial Way (US 19), Spring Hill.

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Spring Hill Southern Open is set for July 20-22.

The defending tourney champion is Merritt Island’s Anthony Caso.

Anyone is invited to roll with the pros in Friday, July 20 9-Pin, No Tap Handicap Tournament.

It‘s open to all averages and ages. Squads bowl at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Juniors entry fee is $20, regulars $35 and $30 for seniors.

For PBA and PWBA members the entry fee for the Spring Hill Southern Open, sponsored by Crystal Automotive, is $220. For new members it’s $285 (money order, cashiers check or credit card only).

PWBA members who are not also PBA members must enter events through the Regional Manager in order to receive the $220 member entry fee rate.

Any PWBA member who is inadvertently charged the non-member entry fee should contact the regional manager immediately.

Online entries for members and non-members closes at midnight on Monday, July 16.
After the deadline, entries must be made directly with the PBA South Region Manager.

Prize fund includes first place projected to pay $2,500 all the way through the final cash guaranteed to pay a minimum of $400.

The Spring Hill Southern Open practice schedule begins Friday, July 20, from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. followed by the Pro-Am from 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The two-day tourney begins with a roll call 30 minutes prior to all squads on Saturday, July 21. A squad: begins at 10 a.m. with eight games. The top third of the players advance.

Day 2 begins Sunday, July 22, beginning with the cashers round beginning at 9 a.m. featuring four games where all pinfalls carry over.

Top 16 advance begin to advance at 11 a.m. – bowling three games (12-game pinfall carries over).

Top 8 advance beginning at 1 p.m. – bowl two games (15-game pinfall carries over).

Top 4 advance beginning at 2 p.m. (17 game total pinfall) to stepladder finals.
